The Truckee River bike path from Tahoe City to Squaw Valley, along State Highway 89, is great for skating, bicycling, jogging, and walking.
The river is accessible for fishing, picnicking and swimming. Or watch the river rafters float down the river. You can join the rafters with your own inflatable or hard shell canoe or kayak. They can also be rented in Tahoe City. Truckee River web cam |

It is about seven miles around Donner Lake with some hills on the South side. The ride up to the Summit on Donner Pass Road is about a 1,200 foot elevation gain.

The distance around Donner Lake is about seven miles with some hills on the South side. The tour takes you thru Donner State Park. The elevation change is about 1,200 feet to go up to the Summit along Donner Pass Road. Another choice is the bike and hiking path along the Truckee River from Squaw Valley Road to Tahoe City. |
